Location: Redhill, Singapore Contract Period: 26 August 2026 to 19 November 2027 Extension Option: Up to one additional year ABOUT THE ROLE We are recruiting a Youth Worker to support the Student Development Team at a primary school in Redhill. The role supports the implementation of the school’s Preventive, Corrective and Restorative disciplinary approach under the STRIDE Programme. Key areas of focus include addressing hurtful behaviours and bullying incidents, providing pastoral care, and supporting student well-being through structured engagement, intervention and restorative practices. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Student Engagement and Pastoral Care Engage students involved in disciplinary cases, including affected students and those responsible for the behaviour, to support fact-finding, pastoral care and guidance. Build positive and trusting relationships with students requiring additional support. Identify early indications of behavioural concerns and raise them with the relevant school personnel. Support the implementation of student safety plans, including monitoring student well-being following disciplinary incidents. Apply a strengths-based approach to help students develop self-management skills and personal accountability. Restorative and Counselling Support Facilitate restorative conversations and structured restorative processes where appropriate and when the students involved are ready. Support corrective counselling sessions to help students understand the impact and consequences of their actions. Guide students in taking responsibility for their behaviour and identifying appropriate next steps. Work with the Case Management Team and Student Development Team to provide follow-up support to students involved in disciplinary cases. Collaboration and Coordination Attend relevant meetings with the Student Development Team, Case Management Team and other school personnel. Maintain awareness of students who may require additional intervention or support. Liaise with REACH teams, Social Service Agencies and other external agencies where required to coordinate targeted interventions. Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when handling sensitive student and case information. REQUIREMENTS Diploma, degree or postgraduate diploma in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology or a related discipline. At least one year of post-qualification, full-time experience in a social work or related role in Singapore. At least one year of experience providing pastoral care, mentoring or youth engagement support in a school or community setting. Experience using different engagement approaches for assessment, intervention and student monitoring. Experience in case planning and goal-setting with youths or students. Experience working with community agencies to access intervention resources. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage students, parents and school personnel professionally. Sound judgement and the ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive matters. The following would be advantageous: Familiarity with restorative practices and case management processes. Experience working in or with MOE schools or MOE-affiliated programmes, such as UPLIFT, GEAR-UP, STRIDE or ASPIRE. WORK ARRANGEMENTS Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 12.30pm Five hours per day Service is not required on Saturdays, Sundays, gazetted public holidays, school holidays, non-schooling days and days with curtailed school hours.
